Zofuku-in増福院

Shukubo (Temple Guesthouse) Information

his shukubo was founded by Kazunori Gengen, the youngest son of Nakamitsu Tada, the grandson of the provincial governnor, Mitsunaka Tada. Mitsunaka Tada deeply respected Kobo Daishi and revered Koyasan. In 998 after being ill and building a temple on Koyasan after, he praised Kobo Daishi and made a testament to "One should pray for the increase of Fukuyu." The name of the shokubo, Zofuku-in came from here.

    Fusuma is a wood-framed sliding door and partition covered with thick paper.
    It is movable in grooves and separates the rooms.
    ※The price will be higher in the case one person use one room.
    ※Price fluctuates according to the season.

    Bus guidance Take a bus from NO.3 bus stop bound for Daimon, and the nearest bus stop is Reihokan-mae. Otherwise, take a bus from No.2 bus stop bound for Okunoin-mae, and get off at Senjuin-higashi bus stop. It takes about 10minutes from the bus stop to Zofuku-in temple by walk.
